I’m writing as it comes today, straight from the heart.
My subject is love between two people. Not divine love, not the love of life itself, not the love for a child, or for a cat or a dog… I’m talking about that magical, chaotic feeling between two human beings.
There is no universal definition of love. While scientists explain it through a series of biological changes and chemical reactions, I prefer to look at it through my own lens.
Someone once called love a “state of madness.” Perhaps it is.
But above all, love is magnificent. Every single phase of it—whether mutual or unrequited, the pain it leaves behind, the healing process, and everything in between. I hope we all get to swim in this wonderful flood of emotions many times throughout our lives.
I can almost hear some of you saying, “One great love is enough.” Well, okay then! 🙂
Love grows you, develops you, and transforms you. Through the person you love, you discover facets of yourself you never knew existed. Sometimes you love these new traits, and sometimes you’re astonished, thinking, “Wait, was this in me all along?”
The phases of love are like the phases of a human life. Every new love has its introduction, development, and conclusion. Isn’t that a beautiful thing?
True, when it ends, the pain is immense! But so be it. We need that too. Even if we only realize it later, it’s through that pain that we rest, turn inward, settle scores, and argue with ourselves. Eventually, we emerge from that “construction site” of self-rebuilding as a brand-new person. Ready for the next one! 🙂
We shouldn’t be afraid of love. It is the most “livable” emotion in this world.
I wouldn’t say I’ve been in love many times, but I’ve had a few solid ones. In some, I was the one deeply in love, receiving less in return. In others, they were more in love with me, and I gave less.
Sometimes the other person didn’t even have a clue, but I had already thrown a huge wedding party inside my head! No matter! Just living that dream was enough to make me the happiest person in the world at the time.
But they all happened, and they were all beautiful. Some lasted long, others were like a flash in the pan. Sometimes, someone entered my life just to help me take a single step and left once the process was complete. Other times, I entered someone’s life for a reason and left once my mission was over.
Love is a splendid thing. I’ll never run from it; I’m always in. Even if the end is frustration and pain! Though, usually, it isn’t. 🙂
With Love!
